The FCP 11.1 release introduced a few new features — apologies for the tardiness of this post.
Adjustment Clips replace the unofficial Adjustment Layers which many editors have used for years. Apply an effect or transform to the Adjustment Clip, and anything below it will be affected. Fantastic for changing an entire timeline (or a scene, or a few clips) at once, and Adjustment Clips can now be transitioned in or out, too! A huge deal
Markers are movable within a clip, and can simply be dragged to reposition them.
Image Playground support lets you quickly create images you can add into a timeline, which you can replace later if you wish.
Many other smaller updates include the ability to reveal the original clip inside a multicam clip, support for the Quantec Room Simulator, and higher timeline frame rates.
As I often do, I’ve written about this for ProVideoCoalition, and all the new features are now documented in the current Final Cut Pro Efficient Editing, available now.
