Released in June 2024, the 10.8 release was followed by a bug fix 10.8.1 release.
Enhance Light and Colour provided a new ML-powered color correction option, attached to the Color Adjustments module. It’s effective.
Smooth Slo-Mo provided ML-powered enhanced optical flow, to allow extreme slow-downs of more types of clips.
Enhanced search features make it easier to locate clips with certain properties.
Effects and color corrections now also be renamed, and dragged from the Inspector to other clips in the Timeline.
While I wrote about these features for ProVideoCoalition here, these features will be documented in the next update to the book, expected in early 2025, up to date for FCP 11.0. Apologies for the extended delay in updating the book; there were issues getting the 10.8 update out promptly, and we’re jumping straight to the 11.0 update instead.
